Wipro announced Wipro AI360 together with a commitment to invest USD 1 billion in AI over three years. More recently its AI strategy has been organised around Wipro Intelligence, a unified AI platform, while Wipro Ventures has committed USD 500 million to startups in AI, data and cybersecurity.
Speaking after the company's first-quarter results in July 2026, Wipro's CEO Srini Pallia said AI disruption is expanding the market rather than shrinking it. Wipro describes new service areas emerging from AI adoption, including sovereign AI, small language models, AI agents, AI security and responsible AI.
Partnerships are part of the approach — for example a collaboration with Microsoft, including an Innovation Hub at Wipro's Partner Labs described as a cornerstone of Wipro Intelligence.
What this signals
- AI security and responsible AI are being named as services in their own right, not afterthoughts.
- Sovereign AI and smaller, focused models reflect demand for control over data and cost.
- Large investment pledges show the direction of the market; individual projects still succeed or fail on scope and governance.
