On 13 June 2023 Accenture announced a USD 3 billion investment over three years in its Data & AI practice, to help clients across industries advance and use AI responsibly for growth, efficiency and resilience.

The plan includes doubling the AI talent in the practice to 80,000 people, equipping more than 250,000 people with skills to use new AI tools equitably, sustainably and without bias, and offering new industry solutions and pre-built models across 19 industries.

Accenture also introduced an AI Navigator for Enterprise platform — to guide AI strategy, use cases, business cases, decisions and responsible policies — and a Center for Advanced AI. The company notes more than 15 years of AI work and over 1,500 patents and pending patent applications.

What this signals

  • People and skills are a core part of the investment, not only technology.
  • Responsible-use language (equitable, sustainable, without bias) is written into the announcement itself.
  • Pre-built, industry-specific models point to faster starts — and to the need for clear data and governance boundaries.
